As Fashion Revolution Week continues, remember that there are many brands that have transparent and ethical supply chains, that care about the people that make their goods, and treat them well. Learn about the companies you support! There are many resources at the @fash_rev site to help you become a conscious consumer. Photo regram from @antakaranathreads, one of the many brands that treat their people right. #fashionrevolution #whomademyclothes
Fashion Revolution Week continues, as we remember the 5 year anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory disaster. Educate yourself and demand transparency of the things you buy. Factories will always exist, but let’s make sure the workers are cared for, paid well, and work in safe conditions. Fashion Revolution Week is here! It’s a time to remember the 5 year anniversary of the Rana Plaza disaster, and ask the companies who make our garments, Who Made My Clothes?! The @nytimes did a story on this anniversary, which the photo and the text below is from. Regram from @nytimes

#NYTOpinion | Mosammot Bulbuli is among the millions of people who work in Bangladesh’s factories that supply clothing to the rest of the world. She is also one of the thousands who were working in Rana Plaza 5 years ago when it collapsed. The survivors recount that moment the same way. The lights failed in the first few minutes of their morning shift; then the generators kicked in, noisily; the walls shook; the ceiling crumbled and fell. Then bodies were everywhere. Next, total darkness. A few weeks later, some of the world’s largest retailers began signing an agreement with local unions regarding work safety standards. That accord has attempted to cast a light on dangerous conditions inside. @nytimes journalists visited Savar last year to see what had changed and what hadn’t in the years since the Rana Plaza disaster. Here, @danirodriguesphoto took a photograph of Mosammot on the bus she takes every morning to get to work. Her shifts are at least 8 hours long and involve sewing one part of the more than 3,000 pants her factory produces daily. Visit the link in our profile to see more of his images in this weekend’s #NYTExposures section. #whomademyclothes #fashionrevolution
Did you love yesterday’s post, but need help sewing your own Marianne Dress? There’s a full sew-along on the blog to walk you through every step! #christinehaynespatterns #mariannedress
Absolutely love @lilianfernanda’s version of our Marianne Dress pattern! Few people use the optional collar piece, but I think it is a wonderful detail. (Though given that I designed it, I might be a wee bit biased!) Great job! 😍 #mariannedress #christinehaynespatterns
@jeanmonsanto always sews up the best versions of our patterns, and her tropical vacation Ikat Lottie Dress is no exception! So great! #christinehaynespatterns #christinehayneslottie #lottiedress
