When I made the samples for the Emery Dress, I tried to stick to clean, modern, and unfussy fabrics, since with my Derby Dress and Chelsea Dress, people seemed thrown off by my choice of Liberty of London florals. I figured that gorgeous linen and cottons in rich but relatively neutral fabrics were a great choice so you all could see the details and seam lines. But in real life, I love love love vintage-inspired florals and wear them all the time.
Imagine my delight when the amazing Shannon of Shanni Loves emailed me her images of her tester Emery Dress, made with gorgeous vintagey floral! OMG, this is the version I would make! It is a delightful and fun version that fits Shannon like a dream.
Shannon has written the nicest post on her blog, and is hosting a giveaway which you should go enter now! She has lovely detail shots on the interior construction, pocket insertion (which everyone seems to love), and the lining.
I'm also so proud that Shannon used some of my lessons from the Sassy Librarian Blouse class on Craftsy to apply to her Emery Dress construction. Way to go lady! I wonder if anything sticks with people in that class since it is soooo long and how anyone stands listening to me talk so much is beyond me. Props to the 6,200+ students currently enrolled. But I digress.
I couldn't be more thrilled and honored that Shannon was a tester and I encourage you all to go pop over and read her post.
