Happy Friday everyone!
Things are a bit quiet here because my mom's in town! Yay! So we're seeing some sites, eating far too much, and catching up on life. If you want to follow along, check out my Instagram feed at @christinehaynes.
Meanwhile, my pattern testers are blowing my mind with their results and comments. Seriously ladies, YOU ALL ROCK MY WORLD! Yes, this is an all-caps moment! I cannot wait to share their photos with everyone and launch the pattern out. It feels like it's taken forever since I put it aside to finish the book, so to now finally see it on beautiful ladies is beyond rewarding.
As of now, I see going to print with the pattern in the next week to week and a half, and then I will formally launch the pattern and open up pre-sales! Hurrah!
Also, I would like to announce that I will be hosting a sew-along! So stay tuned for more information on that and clear your schedules for a new dress in your fall wardrobe! I will be doing both views for the sew-along as well as some bonus changes and additions!
Last Thursday my Laurel dress class finished up and I am so thrilled and proud of my ladies who finished gorgeous new dresses. They all nailed their invisible zipper insertion and neckline finishing, which can be tricky. Huge thanks to Ginger, Marisa, Susan, Donna, and Tonie for a fantastic class! We had such a great time in class that we decided to form two bands- the headliner band, Seam Canyon, and the opening band, Small Bust Adjustment. Wait for announcements on our first gig! (not really)
If you're in the LA area and want to join me for the next Laurel dress class, you can find all the details here!
I also finished up a really fun post for Craftsy (pictured above) that you might have seen a preview of on my Instagram feed. I'm venturing into bras and panties! This is addictive and ooh, my underthings are getting cute and sassy!
Lastly, I made a muslin for the upper body of the Anna dress pattern and am happy with where it's going! I will say that if you are overly curvy or full in the waist, you should know that this is a small pattern! But with a few changes I see this looking splendid in a nice rayon or voile. It will likely have to wait for the moment, but it's nice to have something in queue for when you're ready to sew!
Man, there are a lot of exclamation points in this post!!! But whatever, life is especially good right now so let's not question it! I wish you all a happy weekend and I'll see you back here next week! What do you have in your sewing queue for the weekend?
