Weekend Roundup

Happy Monday everyone! I hope each of you had a great weekend! I spent a large part of my weekend proofing the first draft of my book, which is a pretty mind blowing experience. I think it must be like childbirth or any other good but traumatizing experience, where you forget exactly what it took to make it happen and are a bit in disbelief at the end result! So far it looks really great and I am excited to see it finished and to share it with all of you.

A recently written Craftsy post went live over the weekend as well, titled How to Pair Fabrics with Sewing Patterns, and is a list of things to consider when making a match. Head on over to the post and let me know what you think!

I will be closing the pattern tester email sign up today and will be contacting one lady in each size, so check your in box soon for an email! Again, please note that I only need one person of each size, so if I didn't pick you this time, there are many more patterns in the works, so do not fret!
My Cute Skirt students finished up their beginner projects in a class I was teaching at Sew L.A. on Thursday. It's always so satisfying to see people make their first garment ever and is a privilege to be part of! And one of my students even brought me a gift of some fancy mustard her boyfriend makes. Thanks Meg!

Did you start any sewing projects this weekend? I apparently am still on my Laurel kick and finished two more and cut out another. What can I say? It is just the nicest unfussy dress to wear in the summer. I promise photos on both of those, plus another Laurel that I haven't blogged yet. I've honestly lost count on how many I have! I also checked out all the By Hand London Anna Dresses that hit the blogs this weekend and am very tempted by it. Have you sewn it? Tell me about it!

I picked up some Marc Jacobs swimsuit fabric at Mood on Saturday with plans to make the Bombshell Bathing suit for two upcoming pool situations later this year. I was able to watch my lovely co-workers Devon and Haley make these up and can attest to the flattering nature of the design. So fingers crossed!

Hope you are enjoying your Monday so far and we'll see you back here tomorrow for a second installment of Travel Tuesday!
