My First Quilt

And after many many many months of work, I'm happy to announce that my first quilt is DONE! I've been a garment sewer for over 30 years, and never did I think to make a quilt. That is until last year. I decided that for my man's birthday on Friday of last week, he should get a cozy quilt to snuggle up with on the couch. I worked on it for what seemed like forever, and it is finally done! I've been waiting to blog about it, because I didn't want to ruin the surprise. He had no idea I had this up my sleeve and loved it!!!

I will go into all the details of how I made it in Thursday's post, so stay tuned for all the gritty details! Thanks to Rebecca and Devon for all their help in making this quilt. I had no time for a muslin or test quilt, and am happy that my first attempt turned out near perfect, thanks to their help. To give you an idea of size, my man is about 6'2" and he's holding this quilt up above his head, so it's a bit longer than that.

Have you quilted before? Did you like it more than garment sewing? It's so different!!! But I think I'm addicted...
