If you're friends with Sew L.A. on Facebook and/or follow Oona's blog (and let's face it, you should be doing both!) you've seen some of the amazing photos from Sunday night's big Promaballoona event! If you're slacking and not doing either of those things, pop on over to Oona's recap post and the photo album on the Sew L.A. Facebook page for some glorious prom action!
From left to right in the above photo:
Devon made her prom dress using the Cambie Dress from Sewaholic Patterns
I made my prom dress using the Peony Dress from Colette Patterns
Oona made her prom dress using the Derby Dress pattern from Christine Haynes Patterns!!!
Shaerie gets a free pass since she's 6 months pregnant but sported a beautiful kimono and sparkly jewels!
Haley made her prom dress using a big 4 pattern that I cannot remember! Sorry!
I am so lucky to work with and know such amazing people here in L.A.! This can be a tough town to get to know people, and this group is just stellar. My only wish is that we could keep Oona and her adorable husband for ourselves, but you lucky ducks in New York get them back at the end of the month. Clearly I just need to visit New York more often so we can go fabric shopping together!
It's hot as hell here in L.A. but I'm busting out a bunch of Grainline Scout Tee dresses for my upcoming vacation with my family next week. Look for a post soon with photos of the finished dresses as well as a tutorial on how to make this alteration yourself. And I promise photos of my recently sewn Chelsea Dress too!
What are you all working on this week? Is it hot where you are too? I hear it's cooler in Michigan where I'm headed, thank the lord!
