I finished up my Chelsea Dress last night (I went with the black buttons - photos to come!) and jumped right into another project! It's been really hot here and I've been in the mood for something I can toss on and be super comfy but stylish. I've loved the other versions I've seen around of both the Grainline Studio Scout Tee as well as the Tiny Pocket Tank and thought that they would be perfect for lengthening into super easy summer dresses. When I saw that Grainline was having a summer sale, I jumped at it!
First up is the Scout Tee. I'm going to make it just above the knee in length and will add the tiny pocket from the tank pattern. Because really, doesn't everything need a tiny pocket? My plan is to use a lightweight cotton shirting in medium blue with white stripes, with a band at the hem of navy shot cotton.
Last night I was able to print and assemble the pattern in no time as it's only 19 pages long. I don't love doing PDF patterns (though I completely understand why designers do it - printing is EXPENSIVE!) but this one went together quickly. Though while cutting out the pattern, we had a 4.4 earthquake! I was sitting on the floor and the cats were very interested in all the paper and tape and then we all just stopped and looked at each other. Fortunately it passed quickly and I carried on! Now I will be lengthening the patterns and hopefully sewing it up in no time!
Have you made the Grainline Scout Tee or Tiny Pocket Tank? Let me hear your thoughts! Tips welcomed!
